English Students completed Unit 1 of Literature Reader – The Violet (Poem) with focus on reading, comprehension, glossary, new vocabulary and writing skills. They were also familiarised with the various poetic devices. In Grammar, they learnt types of sentences with practice exercise in the New Grammar Plus book. They did some added exercises like unscramble the jumbled sentences and positive/ negative name tags Hindi अप्रैल माह में 1.स्वपरिचय और विद्यालय के अनुशासनात्मक अनिवार्य गुणों व नियमों के विषय में जानकारियाँ प्राप्त की। राष्ट्रगान, प्रारूपलेखन , वर्णवृक्ष नामक गतिविधि के माध्यम से तथ्यात्मकरूप में स्वर-व्यंजनवर्णों का ध्वनितंत्र के माध्यम से परिचय प्राप्त किया। द्वित्वाक्षर, पंचमाक्षर ,संयुक्ताक्षर और रेफपदेन को वर्णविच्छेद सीखा। (पाठ-सच्चा वीर) का पाठवाचन, कठिन शब्दार्थ-वाक्यप्रयोग, श्रुतलेखन और प्रश्नोत्तर करते हुए गद्यांशावबोधन विधा सीखी। पाठ के माध्यम से छात्रों ने सीखा कि भारतीय परंपरा में किस प्रकार मराठा शासक शिवाजी जैसे महापुरूष हुए जिनके लिए परस्त्री का सम्मान सर्वोपरि रहा । जिन्हें नातिकमूल्य के कारण शत्रु सूबेदार की पुत्रवधू ने भी 'सच्चा वीर' कहकर पुकारा । अपने विचारों को अनुच्छेद लेखन विधा के द्वारा स्पस्ट किया।पर्यावरण सुरक्षा और जल जीवन पर नारे लेखन , कविता लेखन करते हुए छात्रों ने पृथ्वी दिवस का आयोजन किया। जिसमें नन्हें छात्रों का प्रयास अत्यधिक गुणवत्तापूर्ण और प्रशंसनीय रहा। French The students were able to recognize the major and important regions of France. They were also able to greet in French in formal and informal style. They were introduced to words which are similar in French and English language. They also marked the regions of France on a French map.
Mathematics Concept of basic geometrical ideas was introduced to students and based on their prior knowledge defined basic terms like : line, line segment, ray, arrow, point and angles. Students also differentiated between different types of lines and angles. Various shapes were shown to students to describe curves and polygons. With the help of various examples in classroom they identified the type of polygons. Biology Students discussed and researched to find out the different sources of food. They also wrote various food items that are obtained from plants and animals. Students understood what ingredients mean and made a list with food items and sources. On the basis of sources of food they differentiated between herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. Chemistry Students understood the importance and need for separation of various substances. Making connection with real life examples they described different process of separation like : hand-picking, winnowing, threshing, sieving, sedimentation and decantation, filtration with filter paper and funnel. Physics Students understood the measuring methods and practically measured dimensions of various items in and outside classroom and home. They were able to compare various lengths and then felt the need of various units to measure the length. They also applied conversion method in the measured item. Students understood the physical significance of REST and MOTION. Through a school tour, they differentiated between the different types of Motion with real life examples. Social Science : History & Geography The students understood that History is the study of past and the need for us to study our past. The difference between written and unwritten records and the methods that help us construct history. They also learnt that there are many sources of history from where we are able to find the information. As part of Geography, the students are learning about Universe and our place in Solar System. In Civics, students studied about the diversity that exists in India and how within that there is the intrinsic sense of unity. "Mile Sur Mera Tumhara" by Pandit Bhim Sen Joshi was played to bring about the essence of diversity in languages, attire, economic activity, geographical landscape and a common pride for the nation. Art & Pottery Children were introduced to art materials and the techniques and using them. They learnt how to draw human face and human figure. They also made an Earth day poster to commemorate the Earth Day. Indian Music Students learnt about the different classical music instruments in Indian Music like Harmonium, Tampura and Tabla. They started to practice vocal Hindustani music to improve their singing voice. The song that they practiced in Music class was “Saraswati vandana” based on raag. Western Music Children have learned how to Implement the notes on stave C major scale in guitar and piano C, D, E, F, G, A, B Physical Education Students were introduced to the game of Squash. They were made to understand the basic rules of the game and the markings on the squash courts. The focus was to make sure everybody is able to grip the racket properly and are able to make contact with the ball. They were also introduced to the court movement used in a game of squash Life Skill School Counsellor built rapport with students. Students understood the counselor is there to help / guide the students resolve conflicts, time management, behavioural issues among other things. The first session the students had was to learn about self-care and importance of being healthy, understanding that the physical, mental and social health of a person actually makes the person a balanced individual. As a follow up, self-assessment worksheet was given to the students. Based on the scores by the students the students understood that each individual is strong in a particular area - can be in academics, sports or any other activities. This actually gave the students an insight on their own potential. Workshop on “Stand against Bullying” was organised. Students grasped the meaning of bullying and different types of bullying like – physical, emotional, cyber, exclusion, and verbal. They learnt about the possible reasons of bullying, how one feels by getting bullied. They realized that it important to understand when it is to be termed as bullying . A simple conversational joking around cannot be termed as bullying. It was essential for the students to understand that even being a bystander at times is not the right thing to do and can be associated with passive bullying. Students were also given some pointers on how to handle a situation against bullying in school or otherwise. Information & Computer Technology Students did the research on Computerized Library functionality and applied the key components such as Analysis,Decomposition, Pattern recognition, Abstraction and Algorithm design of Computational Thinking on real life problems. The practice of computational thinking fosters key-skills in the students like perseverance,debugging, creating and experimenting.
